Yuma Nakazato was born in Tokyo in 1985. After graduating from high school, he went to Europe alone and studied fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in Belgium. In 2016, he was selected as the only Japanese invited designer at Paris Fashion Week. Since then, he has gained worldwide attention for his cutting-edge fashion that fuses technology and craftsmanship, and for his efforts to address social issues through a reform of awareness towards clothing. In 2021, he founded the FASHION FRONTIER PROGRAM to discover and support next-generation creators who focus on climate change, racial discrimination, economic disparities, and other issues. This book is a documentary-style collection in which Nakazato reveals his creative process and behind-the-scenes work to the next generation.
