From the 1950's looks like never worn, with original price tag still in the original box. The pin is 2.25" long, Roses on earring are 1/2 " and they are the old style screw backs, which was used in the 1950's. I am guessing they are celluloid in make. There is no maker's mark. Here's little history on the store they were purchased from...very interesting:
German immigrants Isaac Strouss & Bernard Hirshberg partnered together and founded the Strouss-Hirshberg Company, in Youngstown, OH in 1875. In 1929 the company acquired the Frew Building at North & Mill Streets and opened a branch store in downtown New Castle's PA.
Strouss-Hirshberg, one of the most popular department stores in New Castle, merged with the May Department Stores in 1946, but continued operation as “Strouss.” The downtown Strouss store suffered during the 1970’s. In early 1986 it was announced that Strouss would be merged into the Kaufmann’s chain(now known as Macy's)but closed soon after ending a 111 year legacy.
