Vintage Rare 70s Scrolling Digit “Direct-Reading” USA Made Westclox Mod. S29B

“Collectors Alert!” Wow! Here’s one for all you clock fans out there. This Vintage Direct Reading Westclox Clock is unusual because it’s a scrolling digit clock. Instead of the time flipping like a flip clock, its digits slowly scroll downward into view.

But what makes this clock truly unique is that the hour scroll actually spells out the number of the hour in a word, “ONE”, “TWO”, “THREE”, up until “TWELVE”. Few scrolling digit clocks used this modern style. Another great quality of this clock is that it’s a WESTCLOX, so it’s made right here in the good old USA.

The design is very simple and minimalist. The scrolling hour and minutes are in black. Just beside these is the seconds scroller in red. It continually scrolls giving the clock a little dynamic movement. The face of the clock is set behind clear plastic with a faux wood background and chrome detailing, very MCM.
