A meaningful vintage round metal compact featuring a high relief repoussé design of the "Tianma" or Heavenly Horse galloping through Xiangyun auspicious clouds. In Eastern symbolism this motif represents rapid success power and divine blessings making this a perfect good luck talisman. The lid opens to reveal a fitted mirror making it the perfect size for use as a pill box or a case for small stud earrings. The exterior sides are detailed with an intricate floral scroll pattern that wraps around the entire piece. It is constructed from a sturdy silver tone metal likely silver plate over brass which has developed a darkened patina that highlights the detailed texture.
