Lot of 10 vintage auger bits with tapered square shanks, paired with a ½" square socket brace adapter (unmarked, 5¼" long). These tools were designed for hand-powered boring in wood, especially in timber framing, carpentry, and rural construction.
Includes three branded bits:
- Mephisto – 5/8" diameter
- Blue Grass – 7/16" diameter
- Snell Mfg Co – 15/16" diameter, 22" long (largest in the lot)
Seven additional bits are unmarked, ranging up to 1¾" diameter, all with classic screw-point tips and helical flutes. No major damage or bends noted; some tips show light dulling consistent with age.
The included ½" square socket is a vintage brace adapter, compatible with large auger bits. It is unmarked.
Condition: All bits are structurally sound with age-appropriate wear. Socket threads cleanly and fits snugly. Sold as found.
