For your consideration is this vintage clay opera mask produced in Wuxi Huishan. Advertisements on Newspapers online document repository show these were popular and sold during the 1960s. This mask is hand sculpted and features a black beard threaded through the mask and stitched to secure on the backside. The hair feels like horse hair, but not 100% certain. According to Interact China, the white mask symbolizes integrity and impartiality. He is wearing a white headdress with blue polka-dots and a gold head piece with teal accents. He measures 3.4 inches long x 1.1 inches width x 5.3 inches in height. There is a metal hang tag on top allowing the piece to be hung on the wall. A wonderful collector piece just waiting to be hung on your wall.
