This is an ensemble fabric made of 100% pure silk Honba Tsumugi, intended to be tailored as a matching set of kimono.

It was passed down from my mother in Kyoto, who does Japanese tailoring. It is a brand new, unused item handled by a kimono shop, and has been carefully stored with its wooden box.

It has the characteristic knots of Tsumugi and a refined, subdued texture, making it suitable for a wide range of occasions, from everyday wear to slightly more formal outings.

This pure silk Tsumugi is not affected by trends and can be worn for many years regardless of age.

As this item is a "matching set of kimono," it is possible to tailor a kimono and a haori (or michiyuki or michiyuki coat) from the same fabric. This is recommended for those who want to enjoy a coordinated and beautiful outfit.
