Mina Aoe, who passed away at the young age of 59 on July 2, 2000. This year, marking the 13th anniversary of her death, her reputation continues to grow. Therefore, we are releasing two of Mina Aoe's later works on LP, which are currently attracting renewed attention in the media.
Since the original releases were on CD, this will be the first time these albums are available on LP. This is a limited first-edition production, so don't miss this opportunity!!
This work is a masterpiece released in 1995, featuring Mina Aoe singing her songs in Japanese with top jazz musicians from New York. You can enjoy her bluesy vocals, as she was originally a jazz singer. The opening theme, a medley of "Moanin'" and "Isezakicho Blues," and the stylish arrangement of "Ue o Muite Aruko" (Sukiyaki) sung in a reggae style are highlights. The commentary is by the late Yozo Iwanami, a leading figure in jazz criticism. Mr. Iwanami, who had known her since before her debut, wrote the commentary with valuable anecdotes from the time.
