Heavy vintage ornate cast metal decorative box with rich bronze-tone finish and deep blue velvet-lined interior, originally misidentified as wood but confirmed to be solid metal with substantial weight (approx. 5 lbs). This oval box features intricate raised scrollwork, a domed lid with sculptural handle, and is marked “Beijing – Made in China – Dun Huang – No. 07," indicating a mid-to-late 20th century Chinese decorative export piece made in a traditional Chinoiserie style. The interior is fully lined in blue velvet, ideal for jewelry or keepsake storage; condition is very good vintage with age-appropriate patina and light lint to velvet from storage, no cracks or structural issues, and lid fits properly.
