16.00 ct. round cut orange/brown zircon. The stone is about 80% eye clean with irregular grains being the most prominent inclusion. Clarity drops to about 70% under 30X Loupe. There is some small amounts yellow fluorescence on the edges of the facet when under UV light (doesn’t pick up in picture). Stone is birefringent, and most likely clarity enhanced with heat.
Original Price listed for the stone is the lowest calculated price at $50/carat. Top tier Zircons are close to $200/carat.
Why So Cheap?
Will this gemstone end up in the Crown Jewels? No. Would they be used in products from Van Cleef and Arpel, Cartier, or Tiffany? Also probably no.
These are “B” rated gemstones; meaning they are the real thing, but not up to the standards for top tier jewelry. They’re great for collecting, making your own jewelry, or even as an investment.
