Mixed metal decorative embellishment for the end of a strap or horse tack.

This mixed metal double sided decorative embellishment definitely made to be seen and not hidden. Most objects of this time were so expensive that even if you could afford the object it would have been wasteful to shower so much money on someone so frivolous as a pretty piece of metal. I'm definitely greatful for the individual that spent the money on this piece so we can be the ones that enjoy it today. I have made this into a pendant and have not done anything to make this piece stand out more than it does on its own. It may be small and insignificant to some, but it's quality, design and fabrication are absolutely beautiful. Sometimes it's extremely hard to identify such objects without sum or any information but this definitely appears to be Asian in design. Of course I can be wrong. I make judgements based on other objects and research found and written by others much more learned then I. I'm sticking to my original assessment about it's origins; )
