[Synopsis]
"Legend of the Galactic Heroes" is a science fiction novel by Yoshiki Tanaka.
It is also an anime and manga based on this novel.

- Set in the far future of the galaxy, this space opera depicts the battles and political intrigues of numerous heroes, focusing on Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen-li.

- In the distant future, humanity, having advanced into the galaxy, is divided into two major factions. The Galactic Empire (Empire), ruled by an emperor and nobles, and the Free Planets Alliance (Alliance), founded by republicans who seceded from the Empire. The war between the two sides, connected only through two corridor-like areas separated by vast, impassable space, has been ongoing for 150 years. After a long stalemate, history begins to move dramatically with the successive appearance of young heroes, Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen-li, in both factions.
