Authentic Feldpost dated June 30, 1918. Features a crisp group portrait of 12 German soldiers in M1910 tunics with a mix of Pickelhaube (spiked helmets) and field caps. Postmarked July 1, 1918 (1.7.18) from Thorn (Toruń). Like new.
The reverse features a rare hand-written message in German Kurrent script from soldier Max Espenhahn of the 4th Field Company, Infantry Regiment, addressed to Alfred Schulz in Hermsdorf.
Translation: "Thorn, 30.6.18. My dear Alfred! Have just received your dear letter and was very pleased with it. Hopefully, we can meet here once during a festival. That you must leave now too makes me very sorry. I don't wish it on anyone. Best regards also to Mother. Your friend, Max."
High-grade historical artifact with clear names, dates, and units. Perfect for WWI militaria or postal history collectors.
Free gift- additional WW1-era photo postcard (lone young man in uniform)
