This copy is in very good vintage condition (now more than 20 years old). The dustjacket is intact (unclipped with $35.00 price) with no tears. There is a lot of shelfwear (a lot of bent/rubbed edges on the top), but nothing major. The book itself is in good condition, but the covers hasve some shelfwear (there's rubbing on the top and bottom edges) Otherwise it's a clean, tight copy (no writing, torn pages, etc.).
Gulag won the Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction, and it was nominated for the National Book Award.
The book charts the history of the Gulag organization; from its beginnings under Vladimir Lenin and the Solovki prison camp, to the construction of the White Sea Canal, through its explosive growth in the Great Purge and the Second World War.
