This is an beautiful navy blue cakeplate which is made and polished by Middle Eastern glass artists & is in excellent, like new condition. Please note the gorgeous raised painted flowers!
Glassmaking is the art of shaping glass, which first heats the glass material until it becomes soft & liquid, then it is made by hand with special tools or blowing beautiful shapes. The made glass object is placed against the heat of the furnace with special rods & tongs until it is completely melted. It is then immersed in water & quickly removed, creating cracks on the body that are sent back to the furnace to remove the cracks so that the cracks can weld together. Glazing is done in two ways: molding & decoration, & decorations are in the form of painting (using powder paints & can be combined with special solvents) & cutting (using special stones & milling tools). To color glass in its paste, they combine different metal oxides.
