Antique GLPCO Bean-Back Cufflinks – Gold Plate Co., c. 1890–1910

Antique pair of late Victorian to early Edwardian cufflinks dating to approximately 1890–1910. These feature rectangular faces with finely hand-engraved scrollwork framing smooth central panels. The cufflinks are fitted with early bean-back (oval flip-back) closures, a characteristic style of turn-of-the-century men’s jewelry.

Marked “GLPCO” on the side of the stem for the Gold Plate Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts, a major American jewelry manufacturer active in the late 19th and early 20th century. Constructed in gold-plated or gold-filled metal with a warm antique patina.

Very good antique condition with light, even wear consistent with age. Some corrosion on the back of one of them. The engraving remains crisp, and the mechanisms function properly. Unpolished and unrestored.

A handsome, authentic example of early American gentleman’s jewelry, ideal for collectors or wear.
