"5th District N.C. Factory No. 256" clear glass canister with lid is an antique cigar humidor. It was used by drug stores to display cigars on the counter. It is in great condition considering it is over 100 years old. The glass itself is wavy & has lots of bubbles, flow marks & straw marks.
Please note that there are small chips on the rim of the lid (see photo) and the rim of the canister (see photo) from the two of them making contact over the years. I found another for sale online and the seller had actually worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco and provided the information shared above.
