Luigi Onesto for Oggetti, hand-blown Murano glass paperweights of a Chinese couple wearing conical hats! The cranberry pink core is cased in clear using the sommerso technique. Both pieces have their original labels with an etched signature on the bottom. Although they both appear pink against a neutral background, the photos against a black background reveal the different glass composition between the two.
Luigi Onesto was born in Murano into a glass-making family. At the age of 15, he began to learn the secrets of glass as an apprentice at Gambaro & Poggi. In 1978, he established his own glass art studio, the Vetreria Artistica Oball.
