Gorgeous 19th century brown glazed spittoon with fluted bowl and clamshell motif around the sides.
No cracks and I could only find a couple of small chips along the side and the bottom unglazed rim. I first thought the pour-out hole was chipped (it's in the form of a triangle), but the edges have glaze (and there are some chips along the edges of the triangle). It appears to be cut intentionally this way.
Measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter and is 3 1/2 inches tall.
Very fine piece.
